13th Birthday
I was very excited. I was officially a teenager. I knew I had a new set of responsibilities. I knew I had to become an older sister because Jackson was in college and to step up. -
My Birth
This is the day I was born. My parents were very surprised to have me because my brother and I are 10 years apart. They were very excited but my brother wasn't too happy about me being born and stealing his psotlight. -
X-Men
This movie has turned me into the nerd I am today. I started readimng comics and watching superheros shows and movies. It may not sound like much of an mpact but to me a whole new door opened up. -
Elisha's Birth
This is the day my little sister was born. Elisha is my best friend. I and Elisha are tight and I wouldn't want to trade for another sister, even though we can get on each others nerves sometimes. -
Afghanistan
This is an important dat because this is when the US send troops to Afghanistan. My cousins and uncles also went to fight in the war. It was a difficult time because my family members were worried for their loved ones and scared that they might not make it back. -
Iraq
This was the day when the US declared war on Iraq. It affected me because my uncle and a few of my cousins fought in Iraq. -
5th Birthday
For my 5th birthday I went to the Skate Palace. I invited a bunch of friends and gave them goodie bags. I had lots of fun and learned how to skate. -
Scott's Birth
My youngest sibling was born. Me and my brother don't really get along probably because we are far apart in age and he's really annoying. -
Kindergarten
This day was my first day of kindergarten. That was when I really started to interact with other people. I made friends and liked my teachers. It taught me to work hard but have fun doing so. -
Death of Steve Irwin
My idol died on this day and he is the reason that I want to help protect animals and enjoy doing my job like he did. He inspired me to do what I love and because of him I am going to college to become a zoologist. -
iPhone
The iPhone was announced on this day. Everyone had to have one including my mom and a couple of people from my school. I really wanted one but my mom said I was too young for one. -
Financial Crisis
Many people were losing jobs. At the time my father was very worried about losing his job and money was tight. I was very worried about our family. This made me think not to take things for granted. -
Barack Obama
This is the date where Barack Obama took office and is my favorite president. I voted for him in the elementary school election and I admired him as a person and leader. -
10th Birthday
I was very excited for my birthday. I got cake and presents after I came home from the first day of school. Later on, that weekend my mom gave me money to buy whatever I wanted. I picked a robotic elephant that movie and made noises. I was my favorite thing because it felt like I had my own personal pet elephant named Kenya. -
Haiti Earthquake
I remember this tregdy being on the news and saw that many eeople had lost their lives. I remeber all the telethons afterward and celebrites rasing money for the cause. It affected me because I saw how everyone lost something that day in Haiti. -
Middle School
This was the first day of middle school. It was of course on the day of my birthday. I didn't really like middle school because people weren't always that nice and there was alot of drama especially at dances. It was terrible. -
Sandy Hook
This is the day where the Sandy Hook shooting took place. Many people across America were concerned for their child's safety including my parents. It made me think that bad things can happen anywhere. -
Online Schooling
I started online schooling because I was really depressed at being at school and needed time to be at home. I will say it was not a great year. I didn't feel like trying and I often didn't do good on homework and tests. I didn't feel motivated. I almost had to redo 8th grade over again because of all my failing grades. It was really a bad year educationally but a much needed break. -
Transgender
This is the day my older sister Michelle becomes my oldest brother Jackson. He sent us a letter in the mail telling us what was going to happen. It showed me that people should be comfortable with who they are and if they need to switch genders and feel comforatble in their own skins taht is what they need to do. -
High School
This is the day I was confined to the prison they call "school". I hated it because I had a lot of homework and tests. It made me realize I would have to start working even harder. -
Library
I got my first job at the Huntingburg Public Library. I've been working there for three years. I love my job and was excited to be getting paid for working at a place that I have practically lived there for 12 years. -
16th Birthday
I turned 16 that day. It made me feel more like a teenager and I could finally drive and I also got my car a couple day afterwards. Yay freedom! -
Gay Marriage
Gay marriage is legalized and I am relieved that my brother can marry whoever he wants in any state. It was a big step in people's rights. -
President Trump
Donald Trump becomes president and I realize that our country is going to start going downhill from here. It was very upsetting because he was someone who doesn't have the kindness and leadership to be a president. He showed me that are really still racist and sexist people out there who apparently can still get people to follow or vote for them. -
18th Birthday
It was an important event because it made me feel like an adult. We spent my birthday at my aunt's shelter house by the pond. My family and friends swam and had desserts and hotdogs. I was happy that I could go buy a lottery ticket even though I haven't done that yet. I finally realized that I was going to go to college soon.
