  • Immigrated to USA

    Immigrated to USA
When I was 3, I first immigrated to the US with my family. We had a little trouble getting started since we didn't know the language.
  • Met my first close friend in US

At this time, I moved from where I originally lived, and while moving, I ran into a kid that was living in the same condo building. I started talking to him more since he also went to the same school, and he eventually became one of my closest friends (despite out fights over nonsense)
  • First visit to Vietnam

    First visit to Vietnam
My parents planned a vacation to Vietnam during winter break, and we went there for about a week to visit relatives and catch up with their life.
  • First encounter with TV

    First encounter with TV
Before this point in time, I was a perfect grades student, but then I found TV, and cartoons. I would watch them often while doing homework, which caused me to take a lot more time on them than I needed to. My grades started dropping due to me not turning in homework on time.
  • My sister showed me youtube

    My sister showed me youtube
One day, I was nearly done with homework, and my sister showed me a song on YouTube. I didn't know what video streaming websites were at the time, and I didn't really care because I thought music was the only thing on it until I started using it myself later on.
  • Found Roblox and started getting into gaming.

Found Roblox and started getting into gaming.
I went to a family friend's house, and they had a son. He was bored and felt like trying something new, so he convinced me to make a Roblox account with him. We spent a good hour trying to figure out the concept of servers, and this was what lead me to start gaming.
  • Found Bleach Manga in a library

Found Bleach Manga in a library
I went to the library one day with my sister because my parents were telling me to go find some books to read instead of playing games too much. She found a manga section and gave me the first 2 volumes of Bleach and told me to try reading it. This was probably my first major encounter with Japanese culture, which is a big part of who I am now.
  • Started watching anime

    Started watching anime
After reading some of the Bleach Manga (and being extremely frustrated because volume 7 was missing) I decided to watch the anime instead to make up for the fact that I wouldn't be able to read as much of the manga as I wanted.
  • My "cousin" transferred to my school.

For a while, this person has been good friends with me before this time, but one year, all of a sudden, I find them walking around with the other 5th grade class in my school. Many people were asking if we were related, so we agreed to call each other "cousins" as a little joke. It caught on a bit too far and everyone thought we were actually cousins, so we never told anyone we weren't except to the friends we were both close with.
  • My mom bought me a black zip up sweater with no hood

My mom bought me a black zip up sweater with no hood
This seems simple but I wasn't really into wearing sweaters or jackets until now. I really liked the feel of the sweater and enjoyed feeling a bit warmer than usual during seasons like spring and fall. Nowadays, I usually wear zip up sweaters with no hood because I feel like it fits me well as a person.
  • I started exploring more anime

    I started exploring more anime
After watching a lot of anime (that I didn't know was anime at the time) I decided that I would to a little digging about anime and different kinds of anime. I started watching more than just Naruto and Dragon Ball, and marked the real start of my interest in Japanese culture
  • Move to New Neighborhood

    Move to New Neighborhood
My parents were searching for a new, bigger home so my sister and I could have separate rooms and more space to live. Because of this, I made new (although none of them close) friends at my new school but wasn't able regularly hang out with my friends again.
  • Stumbled back across the rhythm game "osu!"

Stumbled back across the rhythm game "osu!"
I feel like coming back to this game after trying it once in 2015-2016 or so changed a lot of who I am. My more known attributes is being good at most rhythm games, and in general being fast with a keyboard. I think if I never came back to this game, my identity would still be pretty blank and boring.
  • I started exploring Japanese music

    I started exploring Japanese music
I was growing tired of the same kinds of song I always hear in English. It's always about love, sex, breakups, or some crackheads, and that just didn't really interest me. I started with anime openings because they generally were more diverse on the subject of the song, and the rhythms were also more upbeat, and hype. (I really don't like English rap. It's a bunch of raps about some gang stuff mixing in a "hey" or "yuh" or "gang" in it and it annoyed me whenever I heard that kind of rap.)
  • Made a bad attempt to start learning Japanese

Made a bad attempt to start learning Japanese
I decided it would probably be best to learn Japanese if I want to learn everything I can about its culture. I learned one of the alphabets. I still can't read anything because most of Japanese writing focuses on the most complicated alphabet.
  • Second Visit to Vietnam

    Second Visit to Vietnam
This time, I was a lot older, so I knew a lot more of what was going on. It was this visit that made me start disliking my relatives in Vietnam a bit. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of the fact that we were traveling around Vietnam, and a lot of them traveled with us, but made my family pay for everything. I wasn't sure if they thought we were automatically rich just because we live in U.S, but it wasn't a pleasant experience and I would rather go alone.
  • Getting interest into Japanese Food

    Getting interest into Japanese Food
After finding out ramen is a Japanese food, I decided to do a lot of research into Japanese food, and found out a lot more about their cuisine at the time. I also started thinking about cooking Japanese food, but wasn't able to cook early anything yet.
  • Adopted my first dog

    Adopted my first dog
A few days before remote learning started for the school year, my parents finally agreed to getting my family a dog after I've been nagging my parents for the last 2 years to get one. He's a cute and good dog.
  • Start of COVID-19 Pandemic

    Start of COVID-19 Pandemic
Yes, I know it technically started 2019 but that was on day before New Year's Eve. Because of this pandemic, daily life changed a lot. I started to value hangouts with friends more when it was safe to, and I became a more lazy person (than I already was.) Before the pandemic, my parents were always complaining about how skinny I was, and when it started, I became (a little) fatter. Now, the little fatter just made me average build, but my parents complained about that too when it happened.
  • Hololive

    Hololive
I'm not going to say much because I shouldn't go into much detail on this. Youtubers using virtual avatars streaming games. Any more information would be dangerous.
