Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion
This is the first video game I ever bought with my own pocket money. The Nancy Drew books were my favourite books growing up and when I saw this in store I begged my parents to let me have it. I used my one hour of screen-time every day on the family computer until I finished the game. I then went on to buy and play every game in the series until 2019. Her Interactive. (2000). Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion [PC]. DreamCatcher Interactive. -
Sims 2
My cousin gave me his old PSP and the Sims 2 is the first game I ever played on it. Before this moment I my idea of 'console' games was influenced completely by what my brother played (car racing games, first person shooters and FIFA) that I had no interest in at the time. Maxis/Amaze Entertainment. (2005). Sims 2 [PlayStation Portable]. EA Games. -
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the game that got me back into gaming after a long hiatus. A friend convinced me to get a switch and lent me his copy of Breath of the Wild to play. I got sucked into the story and haven't stopped gaming since. Nintendo EPD. (2017). Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild [Nintendo Switch]. Nintendo. -
Red Dead Redemption 2
This is one of my favourite games I've ever played. Although the game came out in 2018 I only bought and played in 2023. It is one of the most beautiful stories I've ever played through and the tragic event near the end of the game still makes me sad over a year later. Rockstar Games. (2018). Red Dead Redemption 2 [PlayStation 4]. Rockstar Games.
