Adolf Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany
In November of 1932, the Nazi party won 33 percent of the vote, which was more than any other party, in the German Election. Due to this, President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Adolf Hitler, who was the head of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NAZI Party), the new chancellor of Germany. This affected disabled people because hitler would make laws againest them -
Reichstag fire decree
This law was put into place by President von Hindenburg. This law took away freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right for people to assemble. This meant that the government now could control what was being published to citizens of Germany.
Shows unfair treatment to disable people because it took away their freedom of speech -
Enabling Act
This law gave Hitler the power to do whatever he wanted. He could make something a law without having to check with anyone else. If he wanted it, he would enforce it. This led to him creating many laws which targeted groups that he deemed not worthy of living.
This affected disabled people because hitler could have made a law about killing all disabled people and nobody/they couldnt say anything about it -
Burning of “Un-German” Books
Books were burned that didn’t agree with the Nazi viewpoint. Therefore, people were not able to read material that they wanted nor were they able to get correct information.
This this affected disabled people because they could have burnt info about disabled people and people couldn't check if somebody was spreading misinfo about the disabled because they couldnt look it up on a book -
Sterilization Law
This affected people because they were forced to be sterilized if they had a physical or mental disability even if they didn't want to they had to because the government didn't want them to have kids because they believed that if the parent had a disability then the kid would to.

Hitler Becomes Fuhrer
With the support of the
German military,Hitler became the new president of Germany, in addition
to being chancellor. He was able to make any law or rule he wanted.
This affected disabled people because he could make a law that could make disabled people lifes harder -
Germany Annexes Austria
as it showed Germany’s power to be able to take over a country. At this time, many 185,000 Jews living their were now under the control of the German Reich. This affects disabled people because all the laws he made for disabled people in germany are not affecting people in austria. -
Germany Annexed central europe
German troops overran Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and France in six weeks starting in May 1940. France signed an armistice in late June 1940, leaving Great Britain as the only country fighting Nazi Germany. This affected disabled people because the laws that were past onto germany would now be on eastern europe. -
aleksandr tolupow
On August, 20, 1942 Aleksandr Tolupow was moved to a camp called auschwitz. He was prisoner number “60306” he was sent to a soviet pow where he was treated very badly, he was sent to do forced labor which gave him a chance to get eacha small amounts of food. He died on June 6, 1943. -
Euthanasia Decree
This law gave permission to authorized physicians to carry out “ mercy killings”. It was to protect the participating doctors because it was a secret program. It was the first program of mass murder in Germany. Historians estimate that 250,000 people were killed during this program.

Announcement of Death Penalty for Aiding Jews
It affected them by not being able to help Jews in hiding, or if you were a jew in hiding, you would be sentenced to death, same if you were hiding them This affected disabled people because if a disabled person were found with a jew they would be put to death
