feather pencil in ancient times
In these times in Egypt, people began to use feather pencils. they were made from pieces of bamboo and a feather attached to it. to write they dipped the pencil into ink. As time went by the pencil improved until finally the graphite pencil was invented. -

the discovery of graphite
In 1564 a group of settlers found huge sources of graphite and discovered they could use it to mark their cattle and later on used it to write. a few years later they invented the first graphite pencil. -
"Koh-i-Noor Hardtmuth" pencil
A company named "Koh-i-Noor Hardtmuth" patented the first ever production of pencil core made from a mixture of graphite and clay. -
The beginning of the mechanical pencil
In 1822, the first patent for the mechanical pencil was written. It is a pencil that its lead can be increased or decreased in size. Also, the lead can be inserted and removed from the pencil. -

At that time in Philadelphia, the first patent of adding an eraser to the edge of the pencil was written. -
