Peter Minuit comes to New Netherland, New Sweden is founded
Peter Minuit joined the DWI, probably in the mid 1620's, and was sent to New Netherland in 1625 to search for tradable goods other than the animal pelts which were then the major tradable product coming from New Netherland. He returned in the same year, and in 1626 was appointed by the DWI to become the new governor general of New Netherland, taking over from Willem Verhulst, the previous governor general of New Netherland. -
The Dutch take over New Sweden
Johan Rising replaced Johan Printz as the Governor of New Sweden, thus ending a good relationship between the Dutch and the Swedes. The Dutch and the Swedes started a small war over territory quickly ended when the Swedes relised they were greatly outnumbered. -
England takes over New York, the colony
England decided to enforce its earlier claims to New Amsterdam in the 1660's. After a tremendous amount of bloodshed, Stuyvesant raised the white surrender flag. -
William Penn is granted the charter for Pennsylvania
William Penn became the Governor of Pennsylvania with a letter from King Charles II. Under the rules of charter William was in charge of writing laws and creating a government. -

William Penn calls he new land Pennsylvania. Literaly meaning Penns Woods. Penn was in charge of the government and laws of Pennsylvania. -

Walking Purchase
After Penn died land problems became greater than before. Penn bothers and Logan tried to get Nutimus to sell the land. When he refused they forced him out being the start of the walk. -
French and Indian War
War faught over trading post territories. French and Indians on the same side vs. the English. Washington and his men defeat the small army of frenchmen and Native Americans. He then builds a fort in western PA called Fort Necessity. -
Pontiac's Rebellion
Pontiac wanted to take revenge upon the English for what they did in the French and Indian War. He rounded up very many tribes to help him get revenge by killing them and by kidnapping some of them. -

In 1776 the PA State Contitution was written having all the laws, rules, and punishments written inside. Written by Timothy Matlack, Dr. Thomas Young, George Bryan, James Cannon, and Benjamin Franklin. -
Wahington occupies Vally Forge
The Continental Army was at its low point on the war after its big loss at Germantown. Washington then took his tired ragged soldiers to a winter camp in Valley Forge. At Valley Forge he gave the soldiers a new sence of hope by training them. -

John Fitch invented the steamboat and was able to persuade Philadelphia investers to back a project of a steamboat. Fitch used the Delaware river to test this steamboat idea. -

The Lancaster Pike is completed
Lancaster pike made travel a lot faster with its toll of 4 cents for a horse and rider, 12 cents for a wagon, 25 cents for a coach. It then toke 12 hours before the pike it toke days.
