A british Antarctic Survey group was monitoring the atmosphere and found there was low levels of ozone. -

Ozone created
When oxygen gas is exposed to UV radiation in the top part of the stratosphere, Ozone is created. -
Ozone Hole
They stated that a decrease in the amount of ozone in the stratosphere and stated the ozone was thinning. Often called the ozone hole.
