  • Introduction to Music

This is when I began my involvement with the social institution of Music City and music in general. This event was extremely significant to me as it put me on the path to being the musician I am now and the performer I plan to be. The cohorts I met there and the connections I made gave me a strong leg to stand on in the local music scene and I gleaned much insights from teachers there and guest educators.
  • Introduction to performance

I performed in the Music City students' Christmas Concert, the first social institution I was involved with independently. This performance was a huge life event for me as I learned of my love for performing and the roles of a performer in a concert setting.
  • Acceptance to the Laura Secord DNA Arts Program

The Laura Secord Music Department is the most influential and important social institution that I have been involved in so far in my life. Being in an environment of like-minded cohorts and equally passionate musicians and teachers gave me opportunities I would not have otherwise had and I was pushed beyond what I could have dreamed I could accomplish. My role as a student of music was to learn and allow myself to be open to new concepts and ideas, which was extremely beneficial to my education.
  • Introduction to Comedy

My introduction to comedy and comedic theatre came in the form of the 2015-16 Laura Secord production of Anything Goes. Though I was backstage for the production playing bass guitar in the live orchestra, I was exposed to a new (at least new to me) kind of performance that I had not had experience with: comedy.
  • Acceptance to Humber College for Comedy: Writing and Performance

Getting accepted at Humber College for Comedy: Writing and Performance was a huge step forward for me, both in my education and in my confidence, as it was the first time I have been officially recognized for my ability as a young comedian. I received the notification of acceptance just 3 days after my audition, which was immensely uplifting in my confidence as a performer.
