    Chapter 1: Skarlath is captured

    Skarlath the kestral was caught in a freak storm and was blown away from his home, and captured by Swartt Sixclaw.

    Chapter 1: Skarlath and Sunflash freed

    Skarlath and Sunflash free each other and attack the vermin camp, killing some and premanently maiming Swartts paw. Swartt swears revenge and Skarlath and Sunflash flee.

    Skarlath and Sunflash rest awhile, and Skarlath makes a name for Sunflash. Sunflash the Mace!

    Skarlath and Sunflash scare off foxes sieging a group of hogs and moles stuck in their cave. They then stay with them for many seasons.

    Chapter 6: Sunflash bitten by adders

    Sunflash saved 2 baby hedgehogs from adders, but was bitten twice himself. He was healed by a skilled old squirrel.

    Chapter 13: Sunflash is ambushed

    Sunflash and Co. are ambushed while sleeping by shrews, who thought they were sea rats. They sort things out however, and help the shrews to look for their young, who have been kidnapped by corsairs.

    Sunflash frees the slaves on the "Gutprow", and sinks the ship with the hep of the shrews, Skarlath and otters.

    Chapter 8: Riddle is solved

    Sunflash solves a song/riddle that has been puzzling him. The answer is Slalmanastron, so he leaves the hogs and sets off to Salamanastron.

    Chapter 12: Sunflash stuck in a bog

    sunflash is stuck in a treacherous swamp, but he meets two otters who lead him safe out of it, and travel with him.

    Chapter 15: Swartt gets rid of a dangerous fox

    A fox called balefur is starting to challenge Swartt's leadership, so he lures him into an old quarry lunnel. balefur was told there was treasure there, but in fact it was a snake den.

    Chapter 23: Redwallers drive off Swartt's horde

    Redwall warriors (otters and squirrels mainly), drove off swartt's horde by hiding in the woodland and making them think there was more of them than there was. They find an abondoned ferret baby, and decide to rear it. They name it Veil.

    Chapter 28: Myrtle is poisoned, veil is banished

    Myrtle, a hedhehog, drank some poisoned water, but luckily survived. Later, it is found that veil did it, and he is banished from Redwall.

    Vermin try to climb Salamanastron, but most are killed by boulders knocked from the top by hares.

    Chapter 32: Sunflash charges Swartt

    Sunflash charges Swartt alone, but he is injured and trapped by weighted nets, Hares quickly come to the rescue, however, and cut him free.

    Skarlath is killed by a vermin arrow. Sunflash is not amused.

    Chapter 43: The Cave

    Swartt flees to a cave, which leads to the top of a mountain, and Sunflash and the hares follow. By chance, bryony and togget are also in that cave, chasing veil. Sunflash is captured by Swartt, but veil sacrifices himself to save Bryony and Sunflash, and Sunflash kills Swartt.
