Romulus and Remus were twin brothers who had been believed to be the sons of the God of Mars and the priestess Rhea Silvia. The king had ordered the brothers to drown but Rhea placed them in a basket, where they were found by a she-wolf, who instead of killing them, looked after them and fed them with her milk. The brothers were then discovered by a shepherd who brought them home with him. When they had grown up, they decided to found a city where the wolf had found them.(Rome)
