  • The Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (UAGA)

    The Act permits any adult to become an organ donor. It also governs the making of anatomical gifts of one's cadaver to be dissected in the study of medicine. The law prescribes the forms by which these gifts can be made.
  • The Uniform Brain Death Act

    This model law established that the irreversible loss of all functioning of the brain, including the brain stem, was death.
  • The Uniform Determination of Death Act

    The Act states that an individual who has sustained either (1) irreversible loss of circulatory or respiratory functions, or (2) irreversible loss of all functions of the brain, including the brain stem, is dead. A determination of death must be made in accordance with accepted medical standards.
  • Uniform Anatomical Gift Act

    A revision to the original 1968 UAGA to deem a person's legal consent to donate before death irreversible (without an indication that the consent was no longer valid).

    Extended comment period for the OPTN(Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and announced a public hearing on issues raised by the proposed regulation
  • Final Rule

    Governing the operation of the OPTN was issued and published in the Federal Register.
  • Uniform Anatomical Gift Act

    This model law legally bars others from revoking the consent of a donor after death who legally registered as a donor during his or her lifetime (without an indication that the consent was no longer valid)
