Oprah was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Something else that is interesting is that she was raised on a farm by her grandmother. -
Moving Day
Oprah moved at the age of six to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to live with her mother. Unfortunately, things were not always brighter on the other side. There was a huge difference in how she was raised by her mother versus her grandmother. For example, her mother was less encouraging and her grandmother wanted the best for her. -

At the age of nine, Oprah, unfortunately, was a victim of rape. Side note: This is never okay and the fact that it was done by people in her own extended family is terrible. -
