Egypt becomes a great power again. Conquests extend as far as Syria and the Euphrates River. Famous pharaohs such as Hatshepsut and Tutankhamen rule during this dynasty. -

Tanis becomes the capital and Thebes comes under the rule of priests. The period is known as the Ramesside period, after the 11 pharaohs who took the names Ramesses
