    Egyptians devoloped a method called ebalming to preserve bodies and keep them from decaying. During this method they cut open the body and removed all organs except the heart. This method took several weeks. Mummies are specially treated bodies wrapped in cloth. The elite people were mummified. Elite are the nobles or people of wealth and power. Goverment payed the workers with grain.

    Burial in a pyramid showed a Pharoahs importance or an elite. Pointing up to the sky the pyramid showed the Pharoahs or the nobles journey to the afterlife.The Egyptians wanted to make sure the Pharoah was good because they belived he was their link to the gods. They put spells put on the pyramids to make sure they were safe. Making Pharoahs afterlife happy ensured ones happiness for afterlife. Spells and Hymns called pyramid texts.

    Pyramids are huge, stone tombs with four triangle shaped sides that met in a point on top. Engineering the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Largest pyramid is the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Took 2 million limestone blocks.
