    In 1712 Thomas Newcomn updated the steam engine or train. This train wasted a lot of fuel. Since it wasted so much fuel it polluted the air. Mr. Newcomn did improve the steam engine but it just kept getting improved after that.

    In 1800 the Parlimentary Act was passed. It was designed to help the polluting effects of industrial and domestic smoke. This act tried to help and stop pollution.
  • Tuberculosis

    Tuberculosis
    In 1800 tuberculosis also known as TB killed one-third of Britians population. TB occured until 1850. This was casued by a wasting of the body with the lungs being attacked. This cause the lungs to try to protect themselves by producing tubercles.The tubercles become to yellow and spong-like and this causes soughing fits. That leads to the tubercles to spart and suffer.

    In 1832 the cholera outbreak happened. This outbreak happened because crowding in the cities and unsanitary conditions. This was a major downfall.

    The London Board of Health elimitaded cespools. Cespools are where all the sewage and wastes goes. These are the most disgusting sewages ever!

    In 1849 Edwin Chadwick convinced the authorities of London the they need to clean up the sewers. If London cleaned the sewers people wouldn't have to dring contamidated water. Therefore, the sewages should be cleaned up.

    Englands cities grew rapidly. In 1760 there were 45,00 people and in 1850it was 300,000 people. England was not prepared for their cities to grow. They didn't have development plans, sanitary codes or building codes.

    In 1852 the Metropolis Water Act forced water companies to move thier intakes. They had to move their intakes upstream. They also had to regulate their filtration and storage.
  • Tryphiod

    In 1853 tryphoid came and whiped out Croydon, London. Tryphoid was cased by the sewage somehow got into the water supplies. That caused the water to become contamidated.

    In 1873 a huge smog killed over 700 innocent people. A smog is a fog or haze intensified by smoke or other atmospheric pollutants. That is why people shouldn't pollute.
  • Cholera Gone?

    Cholera Gone?
    In 1874 there was no more cholera. This means no more people are getting condamidated by the water because the sewage was getting cleaned up. That is a really great thing to hear!
