Odysseus leaves to fight in the Trojan War, beginning his long journey for him and his men. Odysseus was also the one who thought of the giant horse to sneak into Troy. -
Cicones
Odysseus and his men travel to Cicones only to find trouble along the way with Cicones men invading and Odysseus' men starting trouble. -
Lotus Eaters
Odysseus and his men face trouble when his men come across the lotus bugs. Odysseus falls asleep to get rest and wakes up only to find his men eating the lotus, Odysseus mad pulls the men away and puts them on the boat making them not eat more. Thinking its not his fault he blames the Gods. -
Cyclops
Odysseus and his men come to the land of the Cyclops. They find a cave abdoned with food and start to feast on the food. But soon, a giant one-eyed man shows up, mad with his oversized sheep. The Cyclops feeds on some of Odysseus men, but Odysseus with his smarts tricks the one-eyed monster and tells him his name is Nohbdy. So, they get the Cyclops drunk and stabs him in the eye, so when he cries out for help, he shouts "Nohbdy has blinded me!" -
Aeolus
Odysseus and his men travel to the island of Aelous. Aelous gives Odysseus two gifts: a fair west wind that will blow the fleet of ships toward Ithaca, and a great bag holding all the unfavorable, stormy winds. Once in sight of home, the bad winds blow the ship back to Aeolus island. But he refuses to help him again. -
Ithaca
Odysseus trys to return home, but the bad winds Aeolus gives him makes him sail straight back to him. Where he refuses to help them again. -
Circe
Odysseus and his men sail to Circe's islnad spilting up, Eurylochus and his group went up to explore the island. With that, they came to Circe's house and invited themselves in. Eurylochus didn't go in becuase he didn't feel right about it. Circe changed them into pigs and Eurylochus rushed down to tell Odyssey. Odysseus went back up to the island to free his men. -
Laestrygones
Laestrygones are fierce canniblas who bombard the fleet of ships with boulders when Odyssey arrives. Only Odysseus and his 45 men and his ship survive. The one ship sails to Aeaea the home of Circe. There they spilt into two groups. Eurylochus lead one platoon to explore the land, and Odysseus stays behind one the ship. -
Return to Circe
Odysseus returns to Circe while his men sleep and she tells him about the underworld and offers advice about it. -
Sirens, Scylla and Charybdis
Odysseus and his men go down to the Underworld where they encounter some bad things. First, they have to get through the Sirens, which are women/birds that sing songs that make you want to forget about your home. Then they to cross Scylla, a large dog like thing with 3 heads that eats you, Odysseus only looses six men when faced her. Finally they cross through Charybdis, a massive tide that pulls you into the water. -
Helios & Cattle
When Odysseus finally gets past the bad monsters he tries to pass by Thrinacia, the island of the sun god, Helios. But his men instist on stopping. Odysseus warns them not to feed on Helios cattle, but they were so hungry they ignore Odysseus warning! Helios gets mad and threatens not to shine anymore, so to please him Zeus casts down a thunderbolt to sink Odysseus' ship. Only Odysseus survives and manages to drift to Ogygia, the home of Calypso -
Calyspo
Odysseus reaches Calyspo island where she keeps him for 6 years. Then Zeus sends down Hermes to tell Calpso to release Odysseus, she agrees and then lets Odysseus free, first helping him bulid a raft. He sails for 20 days before landing on the island of Scheria where he will tell about his adventure to the king and be helped to get home -
King Alcinous
Odysseus sails for 20 days and finally reaches where he tell him all about his adventures and the king sends Odysseus on his way to Ithaca on a boat he proivides for him. -
Home to Itaca
Odysseus returns home and Athena transform him into an old beggar. He reunites with an old loyal friend, the swineherd, and also his son Telemachus, who is now all grown up. Telemachus at first thinks he's a god, but then figures out he's his dad and they rejoice. Then Odysseus enters into Penelope's contest and defeats all the suitors trying to get Penelope away from Odysseus. Odysseus and Penelope finally reunite and Penelope figures out its him and rejoices!
