Trapped By The Cyclops
Odysseus and his men come to another island. On the island they are captured by a cyclops who traps them in a cave. The men who aren't eaten help Odysseus blind the cyclops. They are able to escapes under the wool of the cyclops's giant sheep. -

The Battle With The Cicones
Odysseus and his men then find another island where they battle with the Cicones. After Odysseus and his men had defeated them he instructs them to gather what they can and reboard the ships. Instead they kill the animals and eat on the shores of the island. during this time the Cicones are able to plan another attack and kill 72 of Odysseus's men. -

The Lotus Eaters
Odysseus and his men land on an island. The only thing the people of this island do all day is eat the lotus fruit. Some of Odysseus's men eat the fruit and it makes them not want to leave the island or the fruit. By forcing his men back onto the ships and tying them up Odysseus is able to leave the island and continue his journey. -

The God of the Wind
The next island Odysseus and his men come to is where, the of the God of Wind, Aeolus lives. Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of wind and a good breeze to take them to Ithaca. Odysseus's men become jealous of the bag, and believe that it is filled with gold and other treasures. Unfortuately just as they neared Ithaca Odysseus's men's curiosity became too great and the bag is opened. The winds carry the ships away from Ithaca extending their journey further. -

The Laestrygonians
The wind from the bag takes Odysseus and his men to another island that is the home to cannibals known as the Laestrygonians. After being chaced from the island, the giants throw enormous boulders at Odysseus's fleet and only 45 of his men survive on the last ship. -

Aeaea
The crew arrives on the island of Circe, a witch, who welcomes Odysseus and his men into her home. She makes them drink a potion that turns all of them but Odysseus to swine. He is able to do this by eating a plant to resist Circe's potion. Although it didn't feel like a year, that is how long it takes for Odysseus to convince Circe to let him and his men go. -

Land of the Dead
Circe tells Odysseus that he must travel to the land of the dead before he is able to leave Aeaea. While there, Odysseus must hear the prophecy told by Tiresias. The prophecy is that Odysseus will return home. Then he must make a trip to please Poseidon. Tiresias warns Odysseus not to harm the cattle of the Sun God when he reaches the land of Thrinacia; otherwise, he won’t return home with his men, his ship, and will find suitors living with his wife. -

Sirens, Scylla, and Charybdis
Odysseus and his men have to travel through three types monsters known to kill sailors. They first encounter the Sirens, whose song is blocked out of the men's ears with bees wax while Odysseus is tied to the ship. All of the men are safe until Scylla, a monster with six heads, takes six more of Odysseus's men. No one is harmed by Charybdis. -

Helios
After making their way through the three monsters, Odysseus's crew lands his ship on the island of Helios. although they were instructed by Tiresias not to do so, they eat the cattle, while Odysseus is sleeping. Because of this, Zeus kills Odysseus's men and destroys his boat.
