Places like Blockbuster that rented out movies. They were replaced by things like Netflix that allow you to stream the movies from home. -
VCR
Played movies and were first outsold by DVD players. -
Public Pay Phones
Phones that you pay for while you are on the street. People don't need them anymore because they have cellphones. -
Yellow Pages
Yellow pages had everyone's phone numbers inside. Now we have smart phones that save phone numbers for us. -
CD's
Discs that had movies, shows, or songs on them. We can now stream all of those things online so there is no need for them anymore. -
Dictionary
Used to look up words you don't know. Now you can look up any word you want on google and get a much quicker response. -
Thesaurus
A thesaurus lists words with similar meanings. You can look up synonyms for words on google and get a quicker answer than you would if you used a thesaurus. -
Newspaper
Newspaper told you the things that were going on in your area, it was delivered to your door and sold in stores. People stopped buying newspaper when they were able to read it online instead.
