Dealt with diverse groups, like, banking, industry, and farming they all demanded help in order to succeed economically. It tried to solve the economic woes. It helped the GDP to grow the fast in FDR's first term. -
Emergency Banking Relief Act
Relief Act. Declared a five day national holiday to close banks temporarily and FDR hoped the break would give the surviving banks time to get on solid footing. Roosevelt had the power to regulate banking transactions and foreign exchange. -
The Civilian Conservative Group
Hired unemployed young men to work on projects through out the country. 3 million men worked in CCC camps during the nine year existence. Relief Act. -
Agricultural Adjustment Administration
Temporarily reset prices for farm commodities, including corn, wheat, rice, milk, cotton, and livestock, and then made farmers reduce production. This increased production led to overproduction. AAA began to pay farmers extra to plant less and destroy surplus. -
Federal Emergency Relief Administration
Dole out about $100 million to the states, about half of the money bailed out bankrupt state and local governments. States distributed he rest directly to the people. -
National Industrial Recovery Act
Tried to stimulate industrial production and improve competition by drafting corporate codes of conduct. Also sought to limit production of consumer goods to drive up the prices, which allows the salesman to make more money. -

Second New Deal
Relied heavily on the Keynesian style of deficit spending. Roosevelt altered his policy making because of complaints from critics, it was clear that more Americans still needed federal relief assistance thus about half the programs and policies were long term reforms. -
Indian Reorganization Act
Promoted tribal organization and gave federal recognition to tribal governments. The IRA also reversed the 1887 Dawes Severalty Act, changing the relationship between tribes and the federal government. Some tribes rejected while others participated. -
Works Progress Administration
Was an effort to appease the "Longites" who clamor ex for more direct assistance from the federal government. Hired nearly 10 million Americans to construct new public buildings,roads, and bridges. Congress dumped $10 billion into the projects in just under a decade. -
Social Security Act
Relief Act. Created a federal retiree pension system for many workers, funded by a double tax on every working American's paycheck. It also created an unemployment insurance plan to provide temporary assistance to those who were out of work, also making funds available to the blind and physically disabled. -
Wagner Act
Paved the way for more effective collective bargaining and striking, and within a year, fledgling labor unions had 1-line workers in the GM automobile factory. Eventually workplaces had to recognize workers' rights. Reform Act. -
Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act
This act continued to subsidize farmers to curb overproduction and also paid them either to plant soil-enriching crops or is not to grow any crops at all. Reform Act.
