On March 24th, John Adams and his son finally reached the coast of France after long journey on the ship. -
United States Constitution Signed
On September 17, 1787,leaders met up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and signed the United States Constitution. Although it could not become official law until at least nine of thirteen states approved it. The Constitution stated that the people ruled the government. It also formed three seperate branches which are the executive, legislative, and judicial. -
Georgia Ratifies the Constitution
Along with Pennslyvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Georgia became the 4th state to ratify the Constitution. Soon after other states ratified the Constitution like Connecticut and Massachusetts. -
The Bill of Rights is Added to the Constitution
On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights is added to the Constitution. These rights are freedoms guaranteed to the people of the United States. They include the freedoms of speech, religon, and the press. Which is the right to own and bear arms; and protection from unfair searches.
