Birth of Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela's true birthday is unknown, because the whites didn't find it important to know blacks' birthdays. He grew up in Mvezo, a small village located in the districts of Umtata. His great-grand father was also the king of the Thenmbu clan. -

American and British troops pushed from the east, and the soviets pushed from the west until Germany finally lost. As the troops where closing in Adolf Hitler and his wife went into the basement of a bunker and commited suicide together. All that was left was Japan, so we dropped an Atom bomb on Hiroshima, two days later they surrendered. -
World War 2
On August 15, 1945, World War 2 officially ended. American's and the British were pushing from the east and the Soviets where pushing from the west to defeat Germany! But, Japan was still left after Germany was defeated. We dropped the Atom Bomb 'Big Boy' on Hiroshima, 2 days later Japan surrendered. In total, about 72 million people were killed. -
The Aparthied Law Created
The Aparthied law was created to restrict everything blacks could do, and to keep them 'down'. One of the most hated laws included blacks having to carry a passbook with them at all times. If not, they were arrested on the spot. The Aparthied law was the beginning of the black uprising in South America. -
Oliver Tambo
Oliver and Nelson started their own law practice together and later they helped found the ANC. They worked together on the Freeedom Charter and where both great leaders. They also fought together during the Treason Trial. Not only that, they also served time together in the same prison. -
Treason Trial Victory!
During 1957-1961, a four year trial, Nelson and all the others who were arrested testified. Nelson's speech was 441 pages of court record! They were arrested for being the leaders of the Freedom Charter protest. After all their hard work and tireless efforts, all charges were dropped. -
Nomzamo Winifred
She was not just Nelson Mandela's second wife; she was also an important protester who was arrested during a protest. She was known as a fearless woman. Together they had 2 daughters but, in the end they divorced. -
NASA
On July 29, 1958, NASA was founded. It was made to promote astronomy by the NACA (National advisory Committee for Aeronautics). Although NASA was a very small group, with only 4 laboratories and 80 people, its discoveries were ground breaking. It was also created to counter the Soviet Russians plans to build weapons in outer space. -
Robert sobukwe
He was the leader of PAC, which had about 13,000 supporters. He was also the president of the ANC (African National Congress). He also helped the freedom charter and the treason trial. Later he was arrested and abused in prison. By that time he was legendary in the black community. He died in prison due to the massive amounts of abuse he experienced. -

Nelson Mandela was arrested and charged with sabotage after he led a violent protest against the government. During the trail Nelson Mandela gave one of his most inspirational speeches about the issues that blacks faced. The judge took 3 minutes to review what Nelson had said; after that the judge sentenced him to life, plus five years in prison. -

Nelson Mandela was charged with sabotage as a result of violent protesting. He was charged with life in prison, plus 5 years. Even though he could have accepted freedom earlier, e refused because it woudn't allow him to protest. But, he was finally let out unconditionally. -
First Man On the Moon
On July 20, Apollo 11 landed on the moon and also brought the first humans to the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the moon with his famous quote "A small step for man, a large leap for mankind." The three people on the flight where Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. They brought back 42.7 IB’s of lunar rock. -
Freedom At Last
Nelson spent over half of his adult life in jail. While in jail he still taught other blacks about non-violent ways to protest. Nelson was once offered freedom, but he refused because it wouldn’t allow him to protest. But, in the end, he was let out unconditionally. -
Present Day
Today Nelson Mandela is a stunning 93 years old. He currently lives in Qunu, a small village in Tankie, South Africa. It was also the same place he was born in. He has been married 3 times; he is currently married to Evelyn Ntoko. He also has 6 children, 2 with each wife.
