Liberty Bell
On July 8th 1776 bells rung to mark the reading of the declaration of independence. The original bell is located in Philadelphia, this picture is a replica that it is located at the Utah State Capitol building. -
Flag
Originally there was a flag kowned as the continental flag. This flag is the first to represent the thirteen United States. The 13 stripes prepresent each states. Blue represents a new constellation. Flag Day is observed on June 14. -

The Star Spangled Banner

Following the Battle of Baltimore on the morning of September 14, 1814, Francis Scott Key saw the American flag flying over Fort McHenry. This inspired Key's writing of "The Star Spangled Banner". -
Statue of Liberty
After arriving as a gift from France on a ship, the 350 pieces of the Statue of Liberty were reassembled and it was dedicated on October 28, 1886. -
The Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was first used by students in schools on Columbus Day (October 12), 1892. It was written earlier that year by Francis Bellamy.
