The Mars Pathfider traveled around on Mars sending information back to Earth about it's findings. This was signifigant because it sent over 2.3 billion bits of information, including 550 images from the rover, more than 15 chemical analyses of rocks and soil, and more than 16,500 images from the lander. -
Mars global surveyor's last comunication
NASA's Mars Global Surveyor orbited around Mars for nine years, which was longer than any other spacecraft to Mars.That was long enough to complete three extensions of its original two-year mission. The Glopac 2010 launched
The Glopac carried 11 instruments to sample the chemical composition of air in Earth’s two lowest atmospheric layers, profile the dynamics and meteorology of both, and observe the distribution of clouds and aerosol particles. This was signifigant because we did not have this information and it will help us understand our atmosphere.
