Russia sends Alexei Leonov into space to pre form a space walk. He would leave the ship and use an air gun to push himself around. This showed that there is no force on anything in space. -
First US space walk
NASA sends Ed White to preform the first US space walk. He had an air powered gun to blow him around. This just shows that the US can do whatever Russia does. -
Gemini 7
NASA sends Frank F. Borman II, James A. Lovell Jr, Edward H. White II, and Michael Collins into space for 13 1/2 days.This was to figure out what long periods of time in space did to the human body. -
Apollo 8
NASA sends Frank Borman and his crew into space. They orbited the moon 10 times over the course of 20 hours. This space-flight paved the way for the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. -

NASA sends Neil Armstrong into space to go onto the moon. They can now research the surface of the moon and its atmosphere. -
