    Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15, 1769 in Ajaccio, France which is found on the island of Corsica. He was the fourth of eleven children. His parents were Carlo Buonapate and Letiza Ramolina. Napoleons father Carlo Buonaparte was the assesor of Ajjacio. This event was significant because it was the birth of Napoleon.     America becomes its own country
    On July 4, 1776 America became its own country. This was after Thomas Jefferson and other men such as Ben Franklin, John Hancock and John Adams wrote the Declaration Of Independence. This document declared America's independence from Britain. This event is significant because America declared it's independence from Britain and became it's own country with it's own goverment.     In 1778 at the age of 10 Napoleon was enrolled in a military school. Napoleon wanted to learn to speak proper french. At school Napoleon had problems making friends was made fun of for his small size. Napoleon was smart and was accepted to a royal military school in Paris. He left the school when he was 16 and joined the military. This event is significant because his education and training at school helped Napoleon become a great military at the age od 16.     In 1781, a German astronomer William Hershel discovered the planet Uranus. This was the first planet discovered in modern times. It is the seventh planet from the sun.     Napoleonic Code
    On March 21, 1804 the Napoleonic Code was enacted. This was a civil code that gave the post revolutionary France its laws. This was one of the most significant contributions made by Napoleon.     Napoleon married Marie Louise on April 2, 1810. This was his second marrige. His first marriage was to Josephine de Beauharnais but they did not have any children together. Marie Louise was the daughter of the Emperor of Austria they had one son. This event was significant as it was the start of Napoleon own family.
