My Timeline of Technology

  • Pencils

    Pencils
    Going through schooling, I used pencils to write down ideas, draw pictures, create diagrams, etc. There's endless ways how the technology of pencils have been used in my life.
  • Paper

    Paper
    This hidden type of technology has been used for decades in the classroom. Alike to pencils, many don't believe that paper is a technology.
  • Headsets

    Headsets
    During computer time, headsets would be used in order to listen to educational games being played, audiobooks, and more. These headsets were always present in the computer labs.
  • Chalkboard

    Chalkboard
    I recall in elementary school when our class would go Art, we would work with a variety of materials and mediums to create masterpieces. Using chalk on chalkboards is an example of one of those experiences.
  • Maps

    Maps
    Hand-held maps were helpful in class when we studied different places and regions. This technology was present when we accessed books, such as atlas's and encyclopedias.
  • Graphing Calculators

    Graphing Calculators
    This tool was used heavily in middle and high school. This technology assisted me in doing complex mathematical equations.
  • Liquid Paper

    Liquid Paper
    Also known as White Out, was a useful tool for me during high school. This type of technology would assist in fixing mistakes and errors in papers.
  • iPads

    iPads
    When iPads were first introduced into the classroom, there were a few in number and were used during centers to research material when laptops weren't available. Now students at select middle schools are given iPads to take home with them, bridging that first digital divide of having access to technology.
  • Macbook

    Macbook
    I got this type of technology during my sophomore year of high school. This device greatly assisted me in doing all my assignments and such for school.
  • Interactive Whiteboard

    Interactive Whiteboard
    I've used this technology recently in my job to teach and engage children in activities and topics. On here, they can do interactive worksheets where they can draw, write, and drag items.
