The Old Regime
The Old Regime was the time before the French Revolution. The French were divided into 3 estates: 1st Clergy, 2nd Nobility, and 3rd Bourgeoisie class. -
Tennis Court Oath
Members of the 3rd estate were locked out of a meeting of the Estates General. The 3rd estate moved to a nearby tennis court. Some members of the other estates join this group, the king orders them to separate but they refuse. The king gave in and everyone joins this group. -
Storming of the Bastille
Bastille is a French prison with a handful of prisoners. People stormed the Bastille to free prisoners.France now celebrates bastille day, July 14th. -
Louis the XVI
louis the XIV tried to escape, After he tried to escape, people of France turned against him. Louis was executed at Revolution Square. -
Reign of Terror
Reign of Terror was lead by Robespierre. People who apposed to the Revolution were executed. Tens of thousands were killed, mass executions and mass madness.
