Apple Macintosh - Elementary School

America Online (AOL)
America Online began in 1983, but reached its popularity providing dial-up service to American's in the late 1990's to 2000's. When my family purchased their first desktop computer (Compaq Presario), we got the dial-up service AOL where I learned how to connect to the Internet, use it to search websites, and communicate with e-mail. First Laptop
I received my first laptop as a birthday present. It was a Sony Vaio, which was purchased from Sear's. This laptop gave me the opporunity to learn how to use Microsoft Office products as well as use an HP printer/scanner that came with the purchase of the laptop. Introduction to Video Gaming - Nintendo Gamecube
Ninentdo released its 6th generation video game console in 2001. This was my first game system. I got to experience the evolution and power of computer graphics and the enjoyment of video gaming. I continued to play the Gamecube until 2007. The World of Cell Phones - Blackberry
The Blackberry was introduced in 1999, but I did not get a cell phone until my junior year in high school in 2004. IPhone and Apps
The iPhone was the coolest piece of technology! I learned how to use apps, send pictures through text messages, send e-mails on the go, and sync my music with my iPod and computer. Wireless Internet at Home
Wireless Internet has been around long before I received it in my house. However, getting this option in my house was a major milestone. I learned how to connect all my devices, including video consoles, to the wireless internet router. I also learned the importance of various speed options to purchase.
