My mom
My mom has been a big influence throughout my entire life. At a young age, she introduced me to Jesus in which I wanted to learn more about Him. She would take me to church every Sunday. I also look up to her because she wants to learn more and more about Jesus, Biblical truths, and the history of the Bible which I think is awesome. This makes me want to grow in my faith with Jesus and striving to learn about the lessons from the Bible. -
Dedication
I was dedicated at my church by my pastor, Henry. -
Accepting Jesus
I accepted Jesus into my life at 4 years old. Yet, I didn't understand that if I accepted Jesus into my heart, there was going to be a certain way of how to follow Him and live our daily life. And then I made my public statement of faith by getting baptized in 5th grade. I'd say by my junior year of high school I finally understood how to live out my life for Jesus. Even today I'm still figuring out how to live out my faith. -
New Life Academy
I started going to NLA and have been here ever since Moms Day Away and I intend to graduate with the class of 2020 next semester. -

Friendships
I have a lot of friendships through youth group and two of my closest friends are Sophia and Maggie. Now, I've known Maggie since we were really young and I've recently been hanging out with her more this year. Sophia, on the other hand, I got to know when she came to NLA as a Freshman and through my church. Both of those friends are ones I connect with easily because they are Christians and have helped me through tough times. They are the ones that have always been there for me when I struggle. -
3 Deaths
When I was in 5th grade, my grandma died of lung cancer and the next year my uncle had an unexpected death. And then the year after that my papa also had an unexpected death. Those were the worst years my family and I had to go through because there was a death back to back years over a time span of three years. -

3 Deaths
When I was in 5th grade, my grandma died of lung cancer and the next year my uncle had an unexpected death. And then the year after that my papa also had an unexpected death. Those were the worst years my family and I had to go through because there was death happening for three straight years in a row. I remember questioning God why He would let this happen to our family. Looking back at these tragic events, some good that came out of this is that our family was brought closer together. -
Youth Group
Once I became a middle schooler (7th grade), I was able to go to the youth group at my church (Five Oaks Church). The youth group gave me a chance to have relationships with a community of believers at my church who want to learn more about God. However, it wasn't until my junior year of high school that I really started to become interested in having a relationship with God and helping others build their faith. Otherwise, I just went to youth group because I knew that my friends were there. -

Volleyball
My mom encouraged me to join a sport once I got into middle school and since my mom played volleyball in high school and college, I chose that sport as well. The year I started volleyball, which was 7th grade, my mom became the varsity assistant. With her being varsity assistant, I wanted to do volleyball even more because I knew that once I became old enough my mom would be my coach. Another fun fact is that my mom got to be my coach when I made the JV team because the old JV coach had to leave -
Challenge Missions Trip
The summer of going into my junior year, I went on a missions trip with my youth group to Kanas City, Missouri. While we were there, we served by improving local homeowners yards/gardens and presenting the Gospel through sidewalk prayer. This trip really opened my eyes to see how people live their day to day lives without knowing who Jesus is. It also helped me become aware of how much prayer is needed for those people who don't believe or know who Jesus. -
Mexico Missions Trip
During my junior year, we had an opportunity to go on either a local or abroad missions trip. I chose to go on the abroad missions trip which was going to Mexico. My team helped with building a school for the children of the neighborhood we were in. We also got to work with 1st and 2nd graders by teaching them Bible stories and teaching them how to worship. This trip made me realize how fortunate I am to live in a country where clean water is available and trash isn't left sitting around.
