My SMART Goal
S - I will obtain a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from East Carolina University
after completing two years at PCC
M - in at least four years; two years at PCC and then transfer to ECU for voice
A - by studying at PCC for the first two years and the School of Music at ECU for the last
two years
R - Yes, the goal is realistic. It is more important to first start out at PCC and get used to
a college atmosphere and working rather than jumping immediately into school.
T - in four years -
Graduate from RCS!
The first step to completing my SMART goal is to graduate from RCS on June 2, 2017. -
Attend Piedmont Community College
To help obtain the funds needed for future schooling, I'm going to attend PCC and work at the same time. -
Continue studying with my vocal teachers
To get into ECU's School of Music, I have to meet a certain vocal criteria including studying songs in Italian, German, and French. I will keep studying with my voice teachers to help meet these requirements. -
Audition for East Carolina's School of Music
In order to even begin studying for voice, I have to audition for the School of Music to be accepted into the vocal program. -
Graduate from Piedmont Community College!
The second step to obtaining my SMART goal is to attend PCC for two years and graduate with an associate degree. During this time, I have a job to help finance my future schooling. -
Transfer to East Carolina University!
After auditioning and being accepted, I'm going to transfer to ECU and begin studying vocal performance in the School of Music! -
Graduate from ECU!
I will obtain a bachelor's degree for vocal performance in two years and graduate from ECU -
A Job!
Finally, I will get a job with an opera company by graduating from ECU with a vocal performance degree!
