Nanny for a Special Needs Child
I got my first job as a babysitter for a child with special needs. This young boy was so resiliant. He could not speak, walk, or even feed himself. I can remember the day as if it was yesterday....his parents invited me over their house and said that they had a surprise for me. When I arrived, the little boy was using a walker for the very first time. He was slow and steady but finally reached me. When he came to me he said "hi nonna". I knew from that moment that I wanted to teach. -
Entered College
I started my first year at Rivier College in the Elementary/Special Education Program. -
Student Teaching
I started student teaching at Fairground Elementary School in Nashua NH in a 3/4 multi-age classroom. -
My First Teaching Job!
I got my first teaching job at Fairgrounds Elementary School in Nashua NH as a Fourth Grade Teacher. -
Started Graduate School
I entered the Reading and Writing Master's program at Rivier University.
