Summer Reading - Out Of My Mind
I would rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars. This was about a 12 year old girl named Melody. She has a advisability where she can't do much like talk, walk, or eat. But that doesn't stop her on perusing her dream of helping others. With family right with her, by the end of the book she can do ten times more things as she could before. -
The Outsiders
I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. In this book their were 2 sides which was the greasers and the socs. They always got into fights everywhere and competed over girls on their free time. Both groups got into lots of trouble and someone even killed a person. -
2nd Workshop Novel - Flipped
I would rate this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. The main characters are Bryce and Julianna. Bryce always hated Julianna. She is very annoying to bruce. On the other hand Julianna loves Bryce she always wants to be next to him 27/7. She sits with him at lunch, plays at the park with him and tries to hold hands. Bryce has and idea to ask Shelly Stalls out on a date to make Julianna jealous and so she can leave him alone. -
1st Work Shop Novel - The Secret Language Of Girls
I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. In this book the main character Kate thought about how she and Marylin had practically spent their whole lives together but then they started to drift apart in their friendship. Kate started to think that Marylin was becoming childish and that she didn't really want to be friends with her anymore. They got into a big fight and no longer became friends anymore. -
Literature Circle Novel - Wonder
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. the main character August was a boy who loved to do things with his friends and family but he has a facial deformation which caused that to be hard for him. Summer, his best friend, sits at the lunch table with him and is one of the few people who doesn't make fun of him. Summer and August would talk non stop at the lunch table when they met. -
3rd Workshop Novel - Pretty Little Liars
I would rate this book a 2 out of 5 stars. There are 4 main Alison, then the queen bee of the bunch, went missing. Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily have gone on with their lives, though they've grown apart. As the years go by, each girl finds herself facing a new set of challenges when anonymous text messages from "A" threaten to expose her. -
The Giver
I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. Jonas the main character lives in this community where everyone is the same. Jonas became the receiver of memory so he gets to experience things that no one else in the community gets to do. Jonas is different because he has pale eyes along with 2 other people ,Gabriel and The Giver, but everyone else in the community has brown or dark eyes. -
Self - Assessment
I have grown as a reader by reading more books and understanding everything as I go. A goal that I would like to set for next year is to take notes on what i'm reading. Also I would like to get more interested in my books more. This is because in 7th grade I didn't really read that many books or take notes. I didn't like reading at all but i want to improve my reading skills by the end of 8th grade. I think if I do well and is dedicated into this goal I can achieve it.
