My Reading Growth In 7th Grade

  • Summer Reading-Chew On This

    Summer Reading-Chew On This
I would rate this book 5 out of 5. I rate this book 5-5 because it is very informational and helps the readers learn more about fast food. There is no setting or characters involved because it is an informational writing that teaches us about many different places and events of fast food. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it made me not like fast food anymore because now I know the gross ingredients and how they make their unhealthy, yet delicious, food.
  • Outsiders

    Outsiders
I rate this book 4 out of 5. This book was about a gang in the 50's that get into fights but get themselves in big trouble. I enjoyed this book a lot because I like how it was based off the 50's and involved a small gang that gets in trouble. What I didn't like about this book was that the class had to read it for a few months and dragged out the reading time which was very annoying. Also the class had to keep writing the same things from the book over and over again which made it boring for me.
  • Flipped

    Flipped
I rate this book 5 out of 5. In this book we hear about two kids that hate each other but eventually learn that their in love. What I like about this story is that we get to hear their own sides about the same topic and get to understand how the character feels about each other when one the other is telling their side of the story. One thing I don't like about the book is that they don't tell us about anything after the two kids start dating, they stop as soon as they make up to each other.
  • Hunger Games

    Hunger Games
I would rate this book 5 out of 5. The Hunger Games is about a girl that gets picked for a battle and has to leave her friends and family to kill 24 people and claim victory. I liked this book because it was full of action and because I've watched the movie and played games about this book. What I don't like about the book is that it takes such a long time for the action to actually start so for about 10 chapters the reader is waiting for the climax but it takes way too long.
  • The Maze Runner

    The Maze Runner
I rate this book 4 out of 5. In the Maze Runner about 50 boys are trapped in the center of a Maze, then one day a boy named Thomas got sent to the place and was set to escaping the deadly maze. I liked this book because there was a lot of action and creativity throughout the book. One thing I don't like about the book is that the plot keeps changing and sometimes it gets very confusing because too many events are happening at once.
  • Anya's Ghost

    Anya's Ghost
I rate this book 5 out of 5. Anya's Ghost is about a girl that falls into a hole where she finds the bones of a dead girl and becomes friends with the ghost until their friendship backfires. I liked this book because the setting and some of the problems were relatable/realistic. One thing I didn't like about this book is how sudden the ending is, also the book is very short which is upsetting because it is very interesting.
  • Skeleton Man

    Skeleton Man
I rate this story 3 out of 5. This book is about a girl that wakes up one morning and can't find her parents, then a few days later a strange man saying he's her uncle takes her to his house and eventually the girl finds out who he really is. I liked this story because there was a lot of suspense and some parts were scary because people didn't believe what the girl was telling them about her dangerous "uncle". One thing I didn't like about the story was how short it was and how repetitive it is.
  • The Giver

    The Giver
I rate this book 3 out of 5. The Giver is about a boy in a perfect neighborhood that eventually finds out about the secrets and how the community works which is not good. I liked this story because the characters were about my age and there were some relocatable moments throughout the book. What I didn't like about the story was the amount of changes throughout the story line and the ending was very confusing and sudden.
