My Reading Growth in 7th Grade

  • Summer Reading - Eragon

    Summer Reading - Eragon
I would rate this book as a 5. I really liked this novel because it was a topic that had a big plot and it was moving at a pace that I liked. In the novel there was a kid named Eragon who found a dragon egg and he raised it. He eventually began to ride the dragon and defeat enemies that tried to hurt people. He was also training to become a member of using majic in combat against enemies.
  • 1st marking period reading novel - Point blanc

1st marking period reading novel - Point blanc
I rate this novel as a 9.5 because it was great but it was really too fast for me it went from one moment to like 5 years later. It was confusing. It had a good plot, it was about how this kid learns that in order to get far in life you must lie at least once.
  • The Outsiders

    The Outsiders
I would rate this book as a 9 out of 10 because it was how Greasers and socs are not equal and they fight. They are not getting along and one is more wealthier than the other so the other people get judged. The characters are good at what they do and they don't get along no matter what happens.
  • 2nd workshop novel - Billy Bones

2nd workshop novel - Billy Bones
I would rate this book a 9.5 because some of it was confusing for me. For example, one thing will happen at one moment and the next moments one thing else will happen. Billy is a skeleton that live in a closet and he then finds a human friend and they hang out everyday.
  • Lit circle novel - The Maze Runner

Lit circle novel - The Maze Runner
I would rate this novel as a 10 of 10. I would recommend this book to everyone because it isn't too fast nor too slow and also it is a very interesting novel that will make everyone feel good about their lives. Thomas the main character has a poor life because he is being chased by Grievers and that stinks. Our life is great compared to his life.
  • 3rd workshop novel - Absent

    3rd workshop novel - Absent
I would rate this book as a 6 out of 10. I feel this way because I don't like sad stories and this one is sad. This girl named Paige dies in a freak fall from the roof during Physics class, her spirit is attached to her high school and she can't move on.
  • The Giver

    The Giver
I would rate this book as a 10 out of 10. I feel this way because the book was fantastic. Jonas, the main character couldn't see color so when he saw color the giver ended up changing the aspect of the colors for Jonas. He made red the color of blood or death.
  • Self-Assessment

    Self-Assessment
I have grown much since the beginning of the year in many ways. For example, I've learned that symbols in a book can mean more than the eye thinks it means. The sled in the Give for example, it was red, it was fun, it could've meant escape or fun. The meaning really was for escape and freedom and that he still had hope he will survive. My goal for next year is to learn a lot and become the strongest reader I can. I also want to be a grade A student, so I need to become that person by learnig.
