My reading growth from 7th grade

  • Summer Reading - Steve Jobs

    Summer Reading - Steve Jobs
I would rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars. This book, Steve Jobs was a biography about Steve Jobs life before and after he created the Macintosh. I enjoyed this book because it showed that Steve Jobs had a hard life and many struggles, just like other people. It shows that anybody can have a genius idea, but you just need to have the courage to pursue it.
  • 1st Workshop Novel- Chains

    1st Workshop Novel- Chains
I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars. The book Chains was a mix of adventure and mystery. I only gave this book a 3 because in the beginning, a lot of important events take place, and so its hard to follow what's going on. I enjoyed the adventure that took place when the main character, Isabel, decides to go find, and save her sister.
  • The Outsiders

    The Outsiders
I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This book was about a gang of friends that make sure no matter what, they always got each others back. The one thing I didn't like though was that the author focused what was happening to two of the main characters, rather than switching back and forth between all the main characters.
  • 2nd Workshop Novel- 13 Treasures

    2nd Workshop Novel- 13 Treasures
I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This book was a great book. It was full of action, adventure, and magic. This book was about a girl who had the ability to see fairies, and her struggle with having this very rare ability.
  • Lit Circle- The Book Thief

    Lit Circle- The Book Thief
I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars. This book is about a girl named Liesel and her new life after her mother and brother die. Although the book was good, because the setting took place in Germany, most of the characters lines were in German, making it hard to understand what was happening.
  • 3rd Workshop Novel- Beautiful Creatures

    3rd Workshop Novel- Beautiful Creatures
I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. This book has everything a reader could ask for. Its about a caster girl who finds love with a mortal, and they are on an adventure to figure out how to lift the curse off her family before its to late. No chapter will disappoint, leaving the reader wanting more.
  • The Giver

    The Giver
I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars. This book takes place in a different community where everything in your life is chosen for you. This is about a boy named Jonas who is chosen to receive all the memories from the past so they don't to the community, since they have no memories from the worlds past lives.
  • Self-Assessment

    Self-Assessment
My growth as a reader and a thinker has grown a lot this year. My reading levels increased a significant amount, leaving me with a better comprehension of books. Since my reading has increased my vocabulary has expanded a great amount too. I feel my thinking has grown, because since I have been introduced to so many new authors and their writing styles. This allowed me to become more creative with my writing. The goal I would like to achieve next year, is to read 20 books, to keep my level high.
