I was born at Andrews Air Force base on October 29, 1993! -
Walking
I started to take my first steps in June! My mom said that I was eager to explore the world around me and I started to walk at just 8 months old! For those of you who do not know, this is considerably early for a baby. -
Beach trip
My mom and dad took me and my brother on a trip to the beach . This was my first trip to the beach and we visited Virginia beach. This was also the time where I got lost. There were many umbrellas at the beach that were the same color stripes. The current ended up taking me down the beach a little ways, and I could not locate my family. Eventually, a lifeguard recognized that I was lost and I rode on an ATV around the beach until I found my mom. -
First Job
I started out at training for a Junior Camp Counselor in the summer of 2011. I finished training as a counselor and then moved into my first job as a Junior Camp Counselor working at Sports N' More camp for Columbia Association. I always knew I wanted to work with kids and this was a first step in the right direction. The camp was based around learning sports and taking different field trips to places locally. The ages included in this camp were 6-11 years. -
Graduation
I graduated high school from Hammond High School! I graduated with a cumulative 3.86 GPA and as a National Honors Society student. I was considered the class of 2011. We celebrated the graduation at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. All of my family members came, including my grandma who flew in from Colorado. -
Sober Date
I had a rough time since the time I graduated high school up until this date. I was in rehabilitation for about 30 days and came out and have been sober since. I enjoy the new life that I have made for myself and I chose to put this out there because I believe that this is a part of my life that has made me who I am today. I am not ashamed and I hope that me being open can help someone else that might be in need of soem advice! -
Associates Degree
I attended Towson University from the years 2012-2015, but there were many classes that I had to retake and then I withdrew myself. I got in contact with HCC to find out my options to obtain an Associate's and they were able to reverse transfer the credits from Towson University. After this, I only had to take three more classes to obtain my Associate of Arts. -
Babygirl!
My daughter was unplanned and born on August 7, 2021! Her name is Zyra and she is full of sass and very intelligent and strives on the independence that she learns on a daily basis. I love her! -
HCPSS Job
As an attendee of elementary, middle, and high school in Howard County schools, I have always wanted to become a teacher in the county when I got older. I was not interested in my preschool job anymore and decided to attend the HCPSS job fair in summer of 2022. From there, I interviewed for special education and was hired as a student assistant. Two months in, I was promoted as a paraeducator within the system. -
