The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This was one of the very first books that I can recall reading about. It was a simple book, with very few words, and lots of pictures, which ended up making it a super easy, and fun book to help my reading skills improve. -
Clifford The Big Red Dog
Cliiford the Big Red Dog, was probably one of my most read book when I was a little kid. I love dog's and the projection that the book gave of a little girl with a huge dog that she could ride on, seemed pretty cool at the time. Heck. Still sounds cool... -
Dr Seuss
Obviously as a kid, in general words fascinated me. Like, you're making a noise with your mouth and it sound's weird, and not only that, other people understand that noise. And then Dr Seuss came into my life, with all of his rhymes, and I was so happy. "And will you succeed? Yes you will indeed!" - Dr. Seuss -
Captain Underpants
Other than rhymes, comedy was a big thing that I really enjoyed in a book, looking back at it now, it was a way to just laugh your day away and not have to worry about anything, but like, what does a 6 year old have to worry about? Tying your shoes? Nope. Too much effort... -
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
Then entered this book. A book about mystical beings and gods, that made me fantasize of what could be, and then made me realize, our lives are boring. -
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Although this book came out many years before I read it, at first I was intimidated by the size of this book, but after reading Percy Jackson, I was really into all this mystical stuff, because it allowed me to fantasize about what could be. -
The Sea of Monsters
After really enjoying the first book, it seemed quite obvious that I needed to grab the second book and read it as well. -
The Titan's Curse
At this point I was completely into mythical books, that I really couldn't help myself. It took a year after the Sea of Monsters to come out, and I reread the other books, just so I wouldn't forget the story line -
The Deathly Hallows
All while reading the Percy Jackson series, I was also simultaneously reading all the Harry Potter books. -
Battle of the Labyrinth
The more I read these books, the more I really wish this was all possible. Even though their lives were dangerous, they were also, really exciting. -
The Last Olympian
Sad to hear that this was the last book of the series, but also, really excited to see what was coming up next and what new stories will be brought. -
The Hunger Games
At this point after finishing Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, I kinda stopped reading. Until my brother told me to read this series. It was quite different than the mythical books I've been reading but I still found it quite interesting. -
Catching Fire
What can I say? Once I start a series, I need to finish it. It especially helps if its an interesting series. -
The Lost Hero
Finally! October 12th 2010 couldn't have come any sooner! Here we are at last, finally getting to read the new installment of Percy Jackson -
Mockingjay
And the last book of the Hunger Games Trilogy -
The Son of Neptune
At this point, here I am, a 13 year old boy, getting frustrated because I need to wait a whole year to read the next book. To read a book that's 500 or so pages, in a full day... Is it sad this was my birthday present? -
The Mark of Athena
Did I mention that I really liked these books? -
House of Hades
Just so you know, at the same time, I was reading all the books that was assigned to us for English class as well. It's just those were kinda boring, and no where as interesting as these books. -
The Blood of Olympus
I finished this 600 page book in about 17 hours... But sadly! This was the last book in the Percy Jackson series. Sad face. -
The Sword of Summer
What is this!? A new series by Rick Riordan!? Yep. except instead of Greek and Roman Gods, we're focusing on the God's of Asgard. -
The Hammer of Thor
And this is kind of a sneak peek into what I will be reading in the future. Ever since book 1 of Percy Jackson, I really liked mystical books
