The Pregnancy
My mom and dad became pregnant with me. Although my parents are no longer with me, I remember my mom telling me she had an easy pregnancy. She said she never had morning sickness and she worked up until the day I was born.
Biosocial- My mom was so excited. She shared the news with all of her friends and family.
Cognitive-My mother learned about pregnancy and the growth of a baby, She followed a strict meal plan to be healthy.
Psychosocial-My mom started taking prentals. She stopped smoking. -
My Birth
I entered the world! My mom told me it was a very easy birth. We went home from the hosptial the very next morning. I weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 inches long. I was as bald as a cue ball.
Biosocial- I cried when I needed to eat. I also cried when I had a dirty diaper.
Cognitive- I smiled at my mom. My dad made me giggle (it also could have been gas.)
Psychosocial- I was able to latch on for breastfeeding easily.

My First Birthday
By the time my first birthday came around, I already almost quadrupled in weight. I weighed 22 pounds and was a real firecracker.
Biosocial- I slept between my parents. Took my first steps. Loved apples.
Cognitive- My main words I used were mama, dadda, and kitty. Waved to anyone who would make eye contact with me.
Psychosocial- Loved to look in the mirror. Was a happy baby. Would cry if my mom left the room. -
My Second Birthday
By the time my second birthday rolled around, my life had changed dramatically. My parents split up and I moved to a new house with my mom and older sister.
Biosocial- Walk up andd down stairs by myself, Feed myself.
Cognitive- Enjoyed easy puzzles, Loved to be read to,
Psychosocial- Liked to play dress up. Liked barbies. -
Early Childhood
This was the year I started Kindergarten.
Biosocial- Loved the hokey pokey. Learned my ABC's before K.
Cognitive- Learned to write my name. Attached to my teacher.
Psychosocial- I loved to earn stickers for following the rules. Met my first friend whos still my friend til this day. -
Middle Childhood
My family moved again, so I was starting a brand new school in the fifth grade.
Biosocial- Started playing softball. Lost my last baby tooth,
Cognitive- Learned cursive. Won my class spelling bee.
Psychosocial- Started to lose closeness with my sister (she's 8 years older.) Friends became very important to me. -
Adolescence
I was emerging into my final year as a "pre-teen" Biosocial-I was able to start wearing make up. I had gotten braces. Major growth spurt.
Cognitive- I was strugglig in math class. I began taking tutoring.
Psychosocial- Began arguing alot with my sister and step father. Wanted to hang out with family less and friends more. -
Emerging Adulthood
I was a teenager who did not want to take advice from my parents or siblings.
Biosocial- I had a longtime boyfriend of about 2 years already. I was playing travel softball every summer.
Cognitive- Started to think about college. Went on tours of Universities.
Psychosocial- Intimate with my boyfriend. Drew closer to spending all my time with my boyfriend. -
Adulthood
I had graduated from high school and was on to college. Biosocial- I began to gain weight as I was not as active as I was in high school. Choose to start working out.
Cognitive- I was in my first semester of college. I was also working a full time job to help pay my way.
Psychosocial- I was gaining closeness with my mother again. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was always by her side since. -
Late Adulthood
Biosocial- After entering my mid 40's, my body began to go into the stages of menopause. I began to exercise and change my diet to counteract gaining weight.
I began getting blood work yearly to detect cancers and other disesases.
Cognitive- My memory is starting to get bad so i'm doing a lot of puzzles and crosswords to keep a shapness.
I've learned to not let little things bother me.
Psychosocial- I had my first grandchild!! I am overjoyed.
I'm helping plan my youngest daughters wedding. -
Epilogue- Death & Dying
Biosocial- I am having a hard time accepting the fact that i'm againg. I'm able to maintain my weight. I have stage 3 breast cancer, I am not surprise at all as this runs in my family. I am doing chemo.
Cognitive- My husband had a stroke. I stayed on his side through everything.
Psychosocial- I am very frail and weak toward the end of my life. I need assistane to do a lot of everyday activities.
