Pap Smear
Doctors take a sample of cervical tissue to test for cell abnormalities. It is recommended to get a test every 3 years between ages 20 - 29, then every 5 years after that until menopause. -
Breast Exam
Brest exams are ways to check for breast cancer, Self breast exams should start around the 20s and continue on throughout life. Mammograms begin at age 40 and should be preformed every 1-3 years. Mammograms are preformed by squeezing the breast between plates and exposing thebreast tissue to x-rays. -
Endometrial Cancer
Around the time of menapause, I will be tested for endometrial or uterine cancer. I will take a urine test where they will look for abnormalities in the urine or cancerous cells, or have an endometrial biopsy done, in which a sample of my uterine cells will be looked at. -
