This was a new program. I'm not sure if it was the first year they had it, but it was the first year it was offered at my school. I wasn't in it for long because I moved back with my father. They didn't have the program at my new school.

This was a horrible time in my life. Although I was pregnant with my daughter, I was at risk if losing her. I had to quit my job, and stay home. Eventually, it became left sided bedrest because I developed toxemia. That was really hard for me because I was a very active person. I gained 70 lbs during my pregnancy because of the preeclampsia and no activity.
-
Although I wasn't due til mid December, they had to induce labor because my toxemia was so bad.

I was 29 years old. My daughter started 1st grade, and didn't need me during the day. This was a perfect time to persue a degree. I took 2 classes a semester, and worked part time. This was a great balance.
-
Having moved around so much, I wanted my daughter to stay in the same place throughout her childhood. My wish was for her to go to school with the same people from 1st - 12th grade. We purchased our current house when she was in first grade, and she will be entering highschool this fall.
-
Diabetes runs in both sides of my family. My father had it, and so did my maternal grandma.
-
People didn't think we'd last because of the backwards way we started out. We even surprised ourselves.
-
-
This was extremely hard for me. I was very close to my dad. To make matters worse, I had just started the Nursing program, and had to plan his funeral. There was no time to grieve.
