The day I was Born
I was born in southeast china and I am the oldest child in my family with one brother and one sister. I am coming to America to work and my family in China is very poor and I want to send back money to help them. I hear of the many jobs, that involve a lot of labor. But I will do anything to get them money and make my family happy. I am planning to arrive at Angel Island and going to work on the trans continental railroad. I can't wait to sart my adventure. -

Arriving at Angel Island
Angel IslandToday I finally have arrived at Angel island after leaving my family from China. I am very exited but also nervous. I don;t have a place to stay but soon I will get a job. There are tons of people here at Angel Island. Everyone is getting checked for diseases and after waiting a couple of hours to get checked out I got through. I am staying at angel island for the night and soon I am going to work on the railroad. -
Working on railroads
RailroadI have been working on railroads for a while now and I realize how hard it is. . I get paid very little but I have sent some money back to my parents. I have to be extremely tired while working, because it is so hard. One of my friends who I worked with was just killed recently. The railroad is close to finishing and I will have to find a new job. -
The railroad is finished
The transcontinental railroad is finished and everyone is very happy. After that back breaking work I am finally finished but I now have to get a job somwhere else. So i decide to move to New York and work in a factory. I am still sending money home and my family is doing better. It is going to be hard to live in new york and find a place to stay. But I have saved up some money and hopefully I can go back to China some day. -
Life in New York
I have been living in New York for a while and I have been working in a manufacturing factory. It is definitely not as hard as building a railroad but it is still hard. I also have got married and and 3 kids. They go to school and there ages are 4, 9 and 7. We are living a pretty good life earning and average amount of money. I have still not went back to China. -
Few days to Live
My doctor says I only have a few days to live. I say bye to my family but I still have not visited my family in China. I had a wonderful journey and it is okay to say goodbye. My family in China knows that I will soon die and it is a very sad time.
