I Was Born
I was born on July 18, 1996, July is in the middle of the year so Gladwell would say I have a moderate chance for success based on my birthdate , although I wouldn't agree with him because I have done many sports, including soccer, hockey, and fencing and I have done very well in all of them. For me, Gladwell's theory of birthdates doesn't apply. -
Technology
My time of birth did give me an opportunity. I got to grow up in a time when technology was prospering. We had computers in our homes while I was growing up and I got used to how to use them, which give me a leg up over other who haven't had them their whole life. -

I Grew Up
I grew up and not much happend to me threw this period of time. -
I Played Soccer
I started playing soccer around the age of five. I started playing because I liked the sport and my brother played it too. When I first started, I wasn't very good, although I did get very good without practicing for 10,000 hours. Although I do believe practice is a big factor in being good at something, 10,000 hours is a long time. -

I Play A Variety of Sports
I played a variety of sports, like soccer, hockey, and fencing. Although I did start off pretty good, I got a lot better through practice and in fencing I even got to the point where I could beat my instructor. The 10,000 hour rule is true to an extent, but is a little far fetched. -
Grosse Pointe Schools
I started school in 2002. I grew up in Harper Woods, but in the area that had Grosse Pointe Schools. I had a great opputunity in that I could go to the Grosse Pointe Schools, and get a better education. In this case Gladwell's theory of opportunity does apply to me.
