My Birth
I came her to America at age 15. I had a horrible life back at home in China. I thought I had it ok, but when I actually came here to America it made me realize how tought hings were. My whole familt cam here to America which made the switch a lot easier I didn't know if I would want to come and try to find gold which rarely happened. I'm so glad I did. Even though searching for the gold is tough, I'm so glad my family and I came here to America. -
California Gold Rush
The gold rush was the reason I came here to America. I was not getting anyhting back in my homeland so I decided I would give America a try. It searched fo month for this gold that i heard was so plentiful. I was only finding the smallest peices. I was getting discouraged, but I knew I needed to stay here after wpkinghard to get here. -
The Huge Find
It was just a normal day looking for gold when I found that huge gold nugget. At first I thought it was fake, or someone was plaing a trick on me. I was sure it couldn't be real. I had foung small flakes of gold but nothing ever this big.I showed my brother the nugget. And sure enough he stared jumpingfor joy. It was real! That was the day when I finally thought the move here was well worth it. I couldn't believe I just went from nearly nothing and now I had soething that could give me anything -
Paradise
Since I now found this huge peice of gold I have evrything I ever imagined and more. I can live like I actually have a purpose and meaning. I gave a little money to my brother, but other than that I am keeping it to get by. I decided not to spend to much, but I still have much more than I ever imagined I would ever have. I recently perchased a small home and I love it! It is the best living conditions I've ever had. I'm glad things are turning out well. -
Finding the love of my life
I never thought it would take this long to find the love of my life, but I'm glad I did. I had origanlly met her on the boat here to America. She seemed like a really nice girl, but I didn't want to be in a relationship before I was stable myself. I had kind of forgotten about her for a little bit, but then as I was strolling the streets I spotted her and we started chatting on aregular basis. We were together for 2 years before I popped the big question, she siad yes obviously, -
Helping Others
Me and my wife together wanted to help other. Since we had quite a bit of money we wanted to start a food bank. We wanted the newer immagrants to be comfortable and not have to worry about where their next meal might be. I wanted to help anyone that happened to be a little less fortunate since i kind of got lucky.So far this organization is wokring great. People aprecciate our family willingness to help the less fortunate.
