I came to America by myself to have a fresh start. My parents and sisters are already in america when i came. One thing my family hoped to gain was more rights. I wanted to right this bibliopgrapgy so i could tell others about my life. Also so i could tell future generations about their ansestores. i hope that my future geration can learn about many things that happen in history because of me writing this. many things have happend in my life but i have stayed strong. -
Coming to America
on the ship there were theifs and criminals. the second day i was on the ship there was a fihgt with to peple the one man died and got thrown off the ship. there was upper class people on the ship with very fancy things like jewelry and clothing. I got accused of steeling stuff. they had people come a search ,y stuff but they found nothing, one of the crew members told us we only have about 5 more days left. i was so happy when i fund this out. eventually i got to america. -
Physical exam
During the physical exam i saw many things happen. A lady with a child was getting an exam. The lady failed the exam and the child passed. But they wernt allowed to go to America because the mother failed. I was so happy i passed because i havent seen my parents or faamily it feels life forever. Suprisingly the exam was like 5 minutes. There is so much to talk to them about. But I know one thing i have to do is get a job, so i can help my family pay for things and to we all have what we need. -
Tendements
My family and i have been living in a tendement. We share this room with one other famiily. They have 4 children and them. We dont always have enough money for food so we have toeat small proportions. The other family here steels are food that makes it harder on us. The place we are living in is very dirty. The other families child died because they got servierly sick. -
Working in a cotten factory
The fist day i was working in a cotten factory was okay. The air was polluted. After a while it got hard to breath because of all the dust. The girl working beside me had long hair. I remember people telling me not to put my hair down or it would get caught in the machines. And if that happen you had a very slim chance of surviving. These factorires are very dangerous. There was a very little girl working in from of me her machine got clogged and she had to stick her hand in the machine. -
first U.S film
I found out about the first U.S film by a newspaper article oln the ground. it said first U.S film starring Fred Ott. release date Jan 9 1894. when i would walk to the cotten factorie in the morning i would hear rich adn wealthy people talking about it. when i walked down the street i got look down on because my clothing wasnt washed for a long time and i stank. i saw a picture of Fred Otts in a newspaper someone was selling. it was the first page.
