Fifth Grade Talent Show
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcMq8gM83QQ)
This video was my first ever performance in front of an audience, during our annual fifth grade talent show. It was a great experience for me, and I remember being SO nervous. But the audience was great, and I remember feeling such a high afterwards that always stuck with me. I sang "Grenade." -
Sixth Grade Talent Show

This was my second time performing in front of an audience, but this time it was at the middle school. I sang "Grenade" again, this time with then-8th grader Kara Kincaid. It was great. -

I continued my Bruno Mars performances, this year singing "When I Was Your Man." It was a more challenging song, as it was softer and more heartfelt. I remember that, like always, I was nervous, but this year people expected it to be good because of last year's, so I had that sense of comfort. -
Eighth Grade Talent Show

This was my final talent show in the middle school, and by this point I was nowhere near as nervous as I was in sixth grade. I grew a lot as a performer over the 3 year span in middle school, and my voice did too. I broke my Bruno streak, this time singing "All of Me" by John Legend. -
11th Grade All South Jersey Chorus
In my junior year, I auditioned for and got accepted into the All South Jersey Senior High Honors Chorus. I was so nervous and when I got in it was a huge confidence boost. I remember, though, feeling like I wasn't as good as the people around me, but that feeling was soon replaced by one of belonging. It was truly a great experience and I loved every minute of it, especially the songs we performed. -

In high school, the talent shows are a competition, and I knew that my goal in high school was to win one. I decided to perform "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and take my chances at winning first place. I had been sick and was so nervous that my voice was going to crack on the high note, and when it didn't I was so happy. I was even happier when I ended up winning. It was a huge moment for me as a musician, proving to me that I truly was good. -
12 Grade All South Jersey Chorus
I decided to audition for my second and last year, this time for Tenor 2 as my voice had lowered. After auditioning, I found out that I was the Tenor 2 Section Leader, which was such a confidence boost. Senior year had been a great year, as I won the talent show, became a Section Leader, and got the male lead in the musical. -
Twelfth Grade Talent Show

This was my last talent show, and was truly the culmination of everything I had learned as a performer and a musician up until that point. Even though "Words Fail" wasn't a popular song, I knew that I wanted to perform it anyways because I loved it and sang it well. I ended up winning for the second year in a row, which was (and still is) legitimately one of the best moments of my life. I will never forget the fact that I won twice.
