This gave the people of kansas and nebraska the power of popular soveringity to decide wether there would be slavery or not. It calmed people in the south because Kansas and Nebraska had been immune to slavery before the compromise. -

John Brown tried to begin a slave rebellion, taking the federal arsenal, but got captured, charged for treason, and hanged. -

13th Ammendment
The thirteenth ammendment completed the abolition of slavery in the U.S.. It roused the hearts of whites and blacks alike everywhere. -
14th Ammendment
Ther 14th ammendment allowed the african citizens to become citizens. It equaled out many civil racial disputes. -
15th ammendment
