To me, Brown v. Board of Education has always been the main event that change education as a whole, but multicultural education in this point and time was finally recognized. When this event took place, integration in the classroom was revolutionary for multiculturalism in education. This event showed that all students should have an equal education, no matter the color of their skin.(Archives, 2021). -

When the Title IX took place it proved that all students, no matter their gender, could participate in any program or activity in public education.(Division, 2015). In my opinion, this opened up a whole new world for multicultural education in the classroom, because it showed that if we can appreciate our differences based on our gender, we can accept on based on the differences of our cultural backgrounds. -

Section 504: Explained & Summarized
This event, I feel was of extreme importance, because it help students have accommodations in the general education classroom settings, but no modifications of an IEP This allows students to get that equal help they need in their education to help them succeed through their accommodation's. I have a lot of 504s come through the classroom and the 504 act has helped prove that I have equality in my classroom. -

The Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a law that was created summarizing that,"simply mandates that no person with disabilities may be excluded from a program because of the lack of an appropriate aide or accessibility to programs,"(Banks & McGee, 2020). This event shaped multicultural education by ensuring equal education opportunities for all no matter their race, ethnicity, or cultural background.

IDEA impacted the way students with disabilities education was given, solely on to make equal education opportunities for all students. Through my six years of teaching this has proven time again that IDEA is a successful Act that was put in place to create a safe and accepting environment for all students and connects to multicultural education by supporting equal education for all. -

No Child Left Behind Act by Alyson Klein
I was a student in elementary school when the NCLB Act took place. As a student who grew up in a low socio-economic area, the act proved to be helpful to have equal rights as my student peers. As an educator now, I realize that the NCLB act has proven to be at times flawed and a bit too focused on state testing, putting at times a lot of pressure on educators like myself. -
