Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise was an agreement between the North and the South that allowed for Missouri to come in as a slave state and Maine would become a free state. Also a line was drawn above which slavery would not be permitted. This was the start of many compromises that tried to solve the slavery question without war. -
