Japanese invasion of China
The Japanese invasion of China took place from July 7, 1937- September 9, 1945. The results of the war was the Chinese victory, which was part of the Allied victory in the Pacific War. The Japanese forces in mainland China all surrendered. -
Rape of Nanking
The Rape of Nanking otherwise known as the Nanking Massacre took place in Nanking China. The massacre took place from December 13, 1937 to January 1937. The result was 50,000- 30,000 dead. -
Ribbentrop/ Molotov Pact
The Ribbentrop/ Molotov Pact was signed August 23, 1939. The pact was named after the Soviet and German Foreign Minister. This pact took place in Moscow, Soviet Union. -
Germany's invasion of Poland
On September 1, 1939, Germen forces invaded Poland. This invasion lasted one month and five days, ending October 6, 1939. This invasion was apart of the beginning of World War II. Germany's invasion of Poland was a German and Soviety victory. The territory of Poland was then divided among Germany, the Soviet Union, Lithuania, and Slovakia. -
German Blitzkrieg (Poland)
The German Blitzkrieg was a German method of war. This tactic was used to break any defense of the opponent. With a mass amount of motorised infantry and close air support the Germans used short, fast, and powerful attacks. Then, the Germans would use speed to encircle them. Poland was invaded using these tactics. -
Fall of Paris
The Fall of Paris or the Battle of France was the invasion the Germans took on France in France. It lasted May 10 - June 25, 1940. The result was a German victory. -
Operation Barbarossa
Operation Barbossa was the code name that Nazi Germany used for its invasion of the Soviet Union which took place during World War II. Adolf Hitler was the head of this operation, he desired to conquer soviet territory. The result of this invasion was the opening of the Eastern Front. Also, the failure of the Axis to reach the A-A line and failure to defeat the Soviet Union. The Soviet's defeated the Germans in this invasion. -

The Pearl Harbor attack took place in Hawaii, December 7, 1941. The attack was a surprise military by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the Unites States Territory of Hawaii. This attack encouraged the United States entry into World War II. -
Wannsee Conference
The Wannsee Conference was held in Berlin, January 20, 1942. It was a meeting of senior officials that ran Nazi Germany. The purpose of the conference was to ensure that all departments were cooperating to make the final solution a reality. -

The Bataan Death march was the moving of Filipino prisoners of war in the Philippines. It took place April 9, 1942. Many died before reaching their destination. -

The Battle of Miday was a battle in the Pacific Theater of WWII. In other words, it took place in the ocean, and was a naval battle. This battle went from June 3-7,1942. The Amricans won this battle. -
Operation Gomorrah
The Operation Gomorrah, otherwise known as the Battle of Hamburg, was a set of air raids. It took place the 24 of July, 1943 and didn't end for another 8 days. This attack was the first time aircraft was used so heavily in war fare. -
D- Day (Normandy Invasion)
D- Day was June 6, 1944 and it was when the allies of Normandy made their attack. This operation was by sea and was the largest seaborn invasion in histor. It took place in Normandy, France and the Allies had a victory. -
Operation Thunderclap
Operation Thunderclap never happened, but was planned in August 1944 and reconsidered in 1945. It was a massive attack that would cause 222,000 casualties. It was decided that the plan was unlikely to work. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge took place December 16, 1944. The battle was in Belgium where the Allies won due to a German operation failure. It delayed Western Allied offensive plans for six weeks. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The Battle of Ieo Jima took place on the Volcano Islands. The battle went from February 16 to March 1945. The Americans won this battle with its U.S. Marines and its goal was to capture the islands. -
Battle of Okinawa
The Battle of Okinawa was located in Okinawa, Japan. The battle was an allied victory and caused the location to be occupied by the United States until 1972. It was the largest amphibious assault of its time. The battle lasted April 1 to June 22, 1945. -
VE Day
VE Day or Victory in Europe Day is a holiday celebrated by European Allied nations and territories that were involved in WWII. VE Day marks the ending of the war in Europe and the Victory over Japan. It is celebrated May 8, 1945. -
Dropping of the atomic bombs
The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombs dropped by the United States with the okay from the United Kingson. The bombings took place in Japan and ended in an allied victory. The date of this attack was August 6 to August 9, 1945. -
VJ Day
VJ Day was August 15, 1945 when the news of surrender was finally announced to the world. This was a day of celebration for many because it was the end of WWII. September 2, 1945 was the formal day that surrender was declared and Truman declared it to be VJ Day.
