I'm so excited for tomorrow - I can barely sit still to write! Tomorrow is my first day at my new school! I'm in my 3rd year of high-school, which makes me a junior. It's kind of scary going into a new grade 11 class, but I'm also stoked! I even went shopping to get a new outfit! I heard this school is way better than my old one, and I gotta make a good first impression! I should get to bed before I lose any more sleep... -

My new school is the worst. On Monday, this kid in my class, Luke, joked about my new shoes being tacky and his friends started pointing at the rest of my outfit. I was so upset that I went home in a hurry and changed. When I got to school today, the foods teacher offered me some breakfast from the kitchen room. I was confused until I found out that Luke and his friends started a rumour that I'm from a poor, immigrant family! That's so racist to assume! I'm so mad I can't even write anymore. -

I talked to the guidance counsellor, Mr J. I explained what Luke and his friends have been doing, and how it's been difficult to make friends because of them. Mr J was very kind, and said he'd have a talk with them. In the meantime, he suggested I join the Asian Heritage club. I was sceptical at first, but I really like it there! A lot of people have stories about Luke being discriminatory to them, which made me feel better. I'm just happy that I finally made some new friends!
